Terms and Conditions

Goals of Tutoring: The goals of tutoring are to determine the areas where students are having difficulties, improve student competence in these areas, help students become independent learners, and to build upon the success of the student, thus improving and building upon the student’s confidence and self-esteem. 

These goals are reached by:  Allowing students opportunities for practice, reviewing assignments and assessments to determine the areas of need and strength, and helping the student review and preview classroom material, as needed. 

Student Expectations:  To arrive on time and attend tutoring sessions as scheduled, to give the tutor a minimum of 12-hour advanced notice if unable to attend the session as scheduled, to bring all necessary homework or requested assignments to each session, and to actively participate in each session, asking questions as needed. 

Tutor Responsibilities:  The tutor will arrive on time for each tutoring session and will give the student a minimum of 24 hours advance notice if unable to attend the scheduled session, will assist students in determining areas of student need, and will have lessons planned in advance of each session. The tutor will be responsible for bringing student’s materials and resources to every session.

Payment:  The agreed upon payment of $__________ is paid (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) and is due in full on or before the scheduled session.

Additional Consideration:  Students are to arrive and leave at the agreed upon times.  If the student arrives late, the tutoring session will still end as scheduled, with the total payment due.
